Stairway Walks
The last Sunday of each month, I lead a walking tour of the Stairways of San Francisco, inspired by the book “Stairway Walks of San Francisco” by Adah Bakalinsky. I take a route from her book and then modify it to reflect my own historical research and the contemporary happenings in San Francisco.
San Francisco has over 350 stairways going over San Francisco 42 hills, which link together neighborhoods. The walks offer delightful views and encourage even those living on the steepest hills the chance to explore options to driving. The walking tour is also a great chance to see and learn about San Francisco, to get some exercise, fresh air, and socializing with interesting people you might not otherwise have had the chance to meet.
