Without evaluating you, I would be hesitant to say what might be going on, but I suspect that there's something further up the line that is contributing. Something in the calf, thigh, or hips.

Nice article!! RICE is best option as home treatment for heel pain...Using padding and strapping in shoes also helps a lot. Limitation on activities is important in the treatment of heel pain.

Dear Mr. Brown,
I had severe Plantar Fascitis since 2007 and eventually it's goes off. Eversince then...I had mild pain all the time untill at one point I was walking in a mall I heard some sound near my right side heel and I can barely walk. After that I went for few sessions of physiotheraphy and now I'm having heel pain with my legs feel lethargic as well as pain in buttock area...is all this coused by my platar facitis. I can hardly stand more then 10 minutes. I also fell pain in my heels eventhough I'm not walking. I have pretty intense heel pain with each step, even using a walking stick. I'm not sure whats wrong with me...appreciate your comments and advice very much.

Dear Sir,
I had a mild form of plantar fasciitis, with mild heel pain the first 15 minutes or so of walking each morning (plus Morton's Neuroma, fairly controlled by orthotics). However, I had other intense muscle problems with my foot (after some nerve damage from back problems), such as intense cramping periodically during the night and the muscle on the top of the ankle going into clonus with just the slightest provocation. Obviously, my leg muscles were not good either. A very good neuromuscular massage therapist did 2 massage treatments centered especially on my feet, lumbar spine, and legs. The third treatment, she did some very deep massage with the heel. Immediately thereafter, my plantar fasciitis got very much worse. On a 1-10 scale, it went from a 1 to a 10. I'm barely able to walk at all in the morning, and the whole day, I have pretty intense heel pain with each step, even using a cane to help. Can you explain what happened? And would you recommend any more massage (after it hopefully cools down, using your above mentioned therapies)? Thank you so very much for your time!!
                                                                                                                                              Sincerely,
                                                                                                                                              Vicki Sauder
