Paul Brown, CMTService to others is the philosophy of my life; it informs everything that I do. So in 2002, after 20 years in the IT industry, a change was in order. Computer programming is sedentary, abstract work that often keeps programmer and customer separated from each other. I wanted to do something physically active, immediate, concrete and intimate - pretty much the exact opposite of computer programming. Friends always said I had “great hands” when giving them shoulder rubs, so all of these things combined to make investigating massage seem like a viable option.

Since 2003, I have been in private practice here in San Francisco. In 2007, I opened my own massage studio in Downtown San Francisco.

I have 880 hours of training in various forms of massage, including Swedish massage, Zen Shiatsu/Accupressure, sports massage, massage for pregnant women, massage for people with injuries, seated massage, foot reflexology, Reiki, deep tissue massage, myofascial therapy, various types of energy massage, joint mobilization, rocking and shaking massage, professional draping procedures, body mechanics for the therapist, and assessment and customization of massage sessions.

I am a graduate of the California Institute of the Healing Arts and Sciences in Sacramento (160 hours), and also of the National Holistic Institute (720 hours), with diplomas as a Certified Massage Therapist and Health Educator.
